I
wrote my first story as a 7 year old living in a north-west Queensland mining
town that no longer exists. It was a biography about my family that my
mother cherished for far longer than the piece warranted.
However it was this early encouragement that fostered the writing bug and I've been dabbling ever since. I've tried my hand at angsty teenage poetry, short stories and novels which I love. There was also the technical writing day job which I gladly shelved when I started a family.
I left the hot summers of the Outback behind a long time ago (and the poetry thankfully) and now live in Melbourne, Australia, with my husband and 2 young children. I've turned housework avoidance into a full-time job, and would much prefer to read a good book or write my Elizabethan-set historicals than cook but unfortunately the family needs to eat.
If you feel inclined, please drop me a line at carolyn@carolynscott.com I'd loved to hear from you.
